ISLAMABAD - A cultural show was held here on Saturday at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) to mark the forthcoming Kashmir Solidarity Day.
The show featured songs calling for peace and ending violation of human rights in Kashmir while various tableaus were presented to demonstrate happenings in Kashmir.
The segments of puppet show, regional dances and tableaus portrayed different themes related to Kashmir and its arts, crafts and rich culture through costumes and traditional props.
Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) is holding week-long programmes to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day in collaboration with Ministry of National Heritage and Integration, Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir Council.
These programmes are including a painting exhibition by 25 leading artists of the country to pay tribute to the freedom fighters of Kashmir, Kashmiri songs, stage play, performance of National Performing Arts Group (NPAG) on “Tehray Huay Lamhay” and cultural shows.
It is pertinent to mention that Benazir Bhutto decided to mark February 5 as Kashmir Solidarity Day, officially.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), whenever comes into power, celebrates the day with great zeal and enthusiasm.
This year too, PPP-led government showed the same spirit on the day and raise voices at different platforms for Kashmiris’ right of self-determination.
