NWFP government has expressed fear that near half a million people might migrate from Malakand division due to increasing activities of Taliban in Swat and ongoing military operation in Buner, report said. The provincial government has already released funds of Rs 140 million to the districts to cater the needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), said NWFP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain while briefing the media here Tuesday. He said six more camps have been established in Mardan, Swabi and Charsadda as most of the IDPs coming from the insurgency-hit areas were arriving at these districts. Government is doing its best to accommodate and help these people out but we are facing hardships due to massive and rapid exodus from Swat and Buner, he added. Near 20 thousand people migrated from rural areas of Swat have arrived in Mingora so far while a new camp for them has been set up at Timergara.
