Gang of thieves in guise of housemaids busted

ISLAMABAD - Islamabad police have busted a gang of thieves working at various houses in guise of housemaids and recovered stolen valuables including gold ornaments from their possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
According to details, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Muhammad Iqbal from Ramana Police Station arrested eight persons including women who were involved in various theft incidents after getting the jobs at houses as housemaids.  They have been identified as Irum Bibi, Sahzia, Zareena, Sarwar Bibi, Pervez s/o Sarang Ali resident of Thatta Mian district Chiniot, Salamat Ali s/o Niamat Ali resident of Faisalabad, Azhar Ali s/o Painda Khan resident of Chiniot and Kashif.
Police also recovered gold ornaments worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from their possession. During the preliminary investigation, they have confessed to commit various theft and dacoity incidents in Faisalabad and in the jurisdiction of Shalimar Police Station.
Meanwhile, ASI Ahmed Usman from Kohsar Police Station recovered a car (LXG-9723) from Aftab Ahmed Abbassi, which was found stolen from Lahore. ASI Shahid Muneer from CIA police arrested a thief Idrees and recovered stolen items worth Rs 6,50,000 from him.
An accused, Kamran was apprehended by ASI Ashfaq Ahmed from Bhara Kahu police in possession of four wine bottles, while a thief named Ibrar Ahmed was apprehended for having a pistol.  Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has appealed to the citizens to confirm the whereabouts and identity of people before giving them job at their houses.
