Sheikh Rashid withdraws NA-56 nomination papers in Imran Khan’s support

Chief of Awami Muslim League (AML), Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, on Saturday withdrew his nomination papers for Rawalpindi’s NA-56 in accordance with his pledge of support to Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan.
Imran Khan has assured Sheikh Rashid for his support for the latter in NA-55 and has also promised to visit the constituency for the election campaign.
The PTI chief is also expected to address a public gathering in NA-55.
Hanif Abbasi of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is expected to be Imran Khan’s main rival for the seat.
Earlier on Friday, PTI’s Fayazul Hasan Chohan filed an objection to Abbasi’s nomination, stating that the PML-N leader had not provided the details of his income, assets and expenditures.
