12 car lifters arrested; vehicles recovered

ISLAMABAD: Anti-Car Lifting Cell of Capital police have busted 3 gangs comprising 12 accused and recovering 6 vehicles including fake number plats and 3 pistols from their possession. According to details, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Bin Yamin and SSP Tahir Alam Khan assigned the task to SP (Investigation) Sajid Kiani to apprehend the accused in car lifting and recover the stolen cars. SP Investigation constituted a police team headed by In Charge Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) Inspector Altaf Aziz Khattak. The team succeeded in arresting 12 car lifters consisting of three gangs. The members of the first gang are identified as Raees Khan (Noshera), Zubair (Mardan), Waleed Khan (Mardan), Raheem Dad (Charsada) and Fazal Sher (Swabi). The car lifters of the second gang are identified as Abdul Jabbar (Abbottabad), Muhammad Arif (Mansehra) and Jamail khan. The alleged members of the third gang include Paris Khan (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir), Muhammad Nadeem (Rawalpindi), Muhammad Sharif and Muhamm Asif (Islamabad). The police team also recovered vehicles with registration numbers LOV-7070 LXD-1184, LXE-2106, LR-351, MD 773-ICT and PG-0637 Karachi. The accused were also found involved in tampering of stolen vehicles, issuance of fake registration books and selling the stolen vehicles. They have also confessed stealing of more vehicles from different areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Further investigation is under way into these cases.
