Police start anti-car lifting drive

Repeated demands for funds ignored

ISLAMABAD  - Utterly alarmed by the growing incidents of car lifting from the federal capital, the local police on Sunday launched an anti-car lifting scheme.
The police said that the equipment and tools to prevent car lifting will now be available at Rescue-15 including immobilizers, chip card and locks. Besides, tools and services to make homes safe will also be available with Rescue-15. It also announced on Sunday that a software based on Android, GSM and WiFi had been designed as Panic Alarm system at homes or shops.
“Islamabad police have formally launched “Safe City Campaign” to ensure protection to the lives and properties of the citizens and also inaugurated two-day Family Gala in F-9 Park, Islamabad,” a police spokesman said. According to a press note issued by the IGP office, the six-day campaign was formally launched here by Chief Commissioner Islamabad Jawad Paul to secure the city and enhance community policing besides increasing police confidence on people.
The campaign will continue up to April 10 and police will encourage the citizens to be part of the campaign by giving them awareness about its advantages.
