Police resolve father, son murder mystery

SHAHID RAO & Kashif Abbasi RAWALPINDI - Resolving a cold-blooded blind double murder case, police on Saturday apprehended an accused allegedly involved in the heinous crime, informed the police officials here. According to the details, the beheaded dead bodies of Malik Marghob and his son Malik Aamir were found on May 30, 2009 inside their house in Khayaban-e-Sirsyed. A criminal case against the unknown murderers was registered with PS Pirwadhai. Keeping in mind the gravity of the incident, City Police Officer (CPO) Rao Muhammad Iqbal constituted a special team under the supervision of SHO Pirwadhai to track down the culprits. The team succeeded to unearth the real culprit and apprehended the accused Muhammad Munir from Sargodha within a short span of time of five days. According to the initial investigation, the accused Muhammad Munir confessed that he had murdered both the father and his son. He told the police that he had transferred the papers of the house of Malik Marghob falsely to his name while both the deceased came to know it later and to conceal his crime, he murdered both of them. Meanwhile, CPO also suspended Inspector Malik Abbas SHO Police Station (PS) Kahota for neglecting his duties. Meanwhile, Nilore police arrested 5 persons accused of smuggling timber worth Rs 0.4 million on trucks. According to details, Inspector Sajjad Haider Bukhari, SHO PS Nilore received information that 3 trucks were carrying illegal timber after being chopped from the government forest. The smugglers were near the capital territory and were trying to enter the precinct of capital. On the tip-off SHO deputed SI Muhammad Riaz with other police officials at Naka Gun Gali. The team intercepted the trucks and started checking. Upon checking police found a large number of timbers, which were being carried without having any permit. The police party apprehended 5 accused namely Hazrat Zaman, Tehsin Ullah, Abdul Haq, and Nadir. Cases have been registered against them. According to police spokesman, that the timber was worth Rs.400,000 The SSP Islamabad has appreciated the performance of the raiding police party and directed police to apprehend the ringleader of the smugglers.
