RAWALPINDI – A speeding dumper crushed a 50-year-old man to death by hitting him while crossing the road at Pirwadhai Mor on Monday within the limits of Police Station (PS) Naseerabad.
The body of the man was divided into pieces in the tragic incident and was moved by the Rescue 1122 to the mortuary of District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital. As per details, the dreadful road mishap took place at Pirwadhai Mor when the man was crossing the road.
A speeding dumper crushed the man to death and fled from the scene. Following the accident, a score of the people gathered at the spot and called the ambulances and law enforcers to the crime scene to shift the victim of the deadly accident to the hospital.
Police officials said that man killed in the road tragedy was identified as 50-year-old Ghulam Asghar. The body parts of the victim was brought to DHQ mortuary while a search for the heirs of the deceased was started. Police officials further said that the speedy dumper truck was managed to escape from the scene while police registered a case against the unknown driver.
Meanwhile, a man died under mysterious circumstances at his shop located at Rahimabad within the limits of Police Station (PS) Airport here on Monday. The deceased identified as Muhammad Ilyas, running Kiryana Store at Rahimabad.
Police took the dead body into custody and shifted it to District Headquarter Hospital for postmortem.
According to details, Mumtaz Hussain reported to police that some 4 unknown men arrived at the shop of his cousin Ilyas in a rickshaw and killed him. After committing the crime, the killer fled, he mentioned in the written application.
Taking action, police rushed to the scene and took the dead body into custody.
DSP Civil Line Circle Taimoor Khan, when contacted, said that police shifted the dead body to hospital where doctors conducted postmortem. He said that the doctors found no mark of bullet on the body of the deceased. He said that however police recovered a pistol from crime scene. So far, the doctors were busy determining the cause of death, DSP said adding that further action would be taken in the light of medico legal report.
