At least four passengers were killed and 15 others sustained injuries when an over speeding Murree bound passenger bus overturned in front of Islamabad club here on Wednesday.
According to details, a passenger bus was on its way to Murree from Rawalpindi when it overturned on the road after slipping during rain owing to over speeding, killing four persons on the spot and injuring 15 others.
The rescue team and police reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies and injured to Polyclinic and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Three of the injured, including two children, were stated to be in critical condition, hospital sources said. Most of the injured were reportedly women and children.
Police sources said that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle because the road was wet due to rain and drove the bus onto the opposite side of the road, destroying the road barrier in its path.
Traffic police said that the accident occurred because the bus was speeding. There were 30 people on the bus.
Major traffic jams were reported on Club Road after the accident.
