ISLAMABAD - Two days after his meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to end differences, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Monday categorically denied the impression that more than one groups were operating within the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The minister in a statement issued by the ministry of interior clarified that the focus and objective of his meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif was a political one where national matters were discussed. He denied that the meeting was arranged to settle his personal differences with the PM.
Nisar said, “How this is possible that the country is stuck in the quagmire of problems and I take up my personal problems. Neither this happened before nor it
will happen now.” He said he did not held the meeting with the prime minister to complain against any minister, adding neither any minister was interfering in his ministry nor one could do so. He said the reality was that overall his relations with the whole cabinet and with the parliamentary party were very congenial.
“I was surprised to listen to and read that the name of Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar was taken time and again in this connection,” he said. “Whereas instead of a misunderstanding we have a relation of respect and deference and the same atmosphere exists with regard to other members of the cabinet,” he added.
The minister said that he was neither concerned nor gave importance to activities by somebody for his personal fame or by a minister for cooling his fire of meanness by secretly igniting certain activities, as this happens in the political parties. “I will be concerned if I face criticism or am opposed by a person who has character and is true and honest,” he added.
