PESHAWAR - Jamaat-e-Islami Women Wing, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Friday announced to observe the International Women Day today (Saturday) with a spirit of Hazrat Khadijatul Kubra (RA) Day.
The announcement was made by JI former member provincial assembly and women activist, Inayat Begum, during a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club. She said that JI Women Wing will organise seminars, lecturers, and Dars-e-Qura'an and others functions on the occasion of International Women's Day, aimed at to present the glorious life of Hazrat Khadijatul Kubra (RA), as role model for Muslim women.
Flanked by party MPA Rashida Zafar, JI women wing deputy Nazima, Hummra Bashir, and other women workers, Inayat Begum said that Islam and constitution of Pakistan give all the basic rights to women. But, she said, the successive government had been failed to give due rights to women in light of the constitution of the country. Inayat Begum said that former government had introduced system against the religion and Islamic traditions, by following on secular agenda, which was promoting in education institutions. Due to policies of former government, she said the veiled girls students in University had harassed and torture.
She criticised NGOs for failure to secure the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. She alleged the NGOs were promoting obscenity in the name of women rights.
