RAWALPINDI - Excise and Taxation Department, Rawalpindi, has sealed 37 more commercial and residential properties, as their owners did not pay property tax.
This is being done in a campaign of the department launched against the non-payment of property tax arrears. Nearly 24 properties have also been de-sealed after a recovery of about 2.5 million rupees.
Meanwhile, the citizens have registered complaints that the staffs also shut residents inside their houses during the campaign.
The affected residents mostly include women and children. Sources said a house in Satellite Town, B-block, was sealed while their residents were in the house. Senior officials expressed the opinion that the staffs give way to the residents before sealing any building.
