Supreme Court (SC) has maintained that 2011 will be observed as recovery of missing persons year. A 3-member SC bench presided over by justice Javed Iqbal and comprising justice Tassadaq Hussain Jillani and justice Raja Fayyaz took up the missing persons case for hearing Monday. Making mention of the report filed in the court on missing persons, Additional Attorney General (AAG) KK Agha requested the court the said report be not made public as consultation would be made with federal government on this report. "This has come to open for the first time that 2011 will be observed as recovery of missing persons year and this year will be the year of recovery of missing persons", justice Javed Iqbal remarked. Hashmat Habib counsel for missing persons told there were such missing persons whose family members did not want to come to open. "They are not coming to open due to fear. There should be an institution which should review the cases of missing persons. The respective commission has also proposed this in its report", justice Raja Fayyaz observed. AAG told the court that 134 missing persons had been recovered so far. "If any FIR has been lodged against those found involved in missing persons cases. Whether any action is taken against them or otherwise", justice Javed Iqbal remarked. The court while adjourning the hearing for one week has maintained that the court be informed what strategy has been evolved in the report about missing persons.
