Fauzia Wahab a courageous voice of democrats, women folk

ISLAMABAD – The archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan arranged a literary reference to remember a member of National Assembly, intellectual and famine activist Fauzia Wahab at Islamabad club here Monday.Dr Athar Hssain, husband of Fauzia Wahab, chaired the reference. Speaking on the occasion he said that Fauzia was by no means an average Pakistani politician. She was neither feudal nor the daughter of notable by no means was she born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Through sheer hard work and perseverance alone she rose within the ranks of Peoples Party and also raised her children who today are assets to the family and In sha Allah our country...all these qualities were imparted to them by Fauzia. She loved her children immensely but was also a strict disciplinarian. Dr Nadeem Ahsan, Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis stated that Fauzia Wahab preferred links with political workers rather links with bureaucracy. He said, “MQM leader Altaf Hussain announced special mourning for Fauzia Wahab and I am representing my leaders in this august gathering.” He said that Fauzia Wahab was the leader of downtrodden masses because she tried to achieve their rights.Senator Nuzhat Sadiq said that she was a bridge among political parties. She stated that her leader Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif directed her to participate on his behalf in this literary gathering. She said that Fauzia was upset about the rift between political parties created by agencies.Faisal Mushtaq, Executive Director International Roots School said a women loved by many who was whisked away from us by the cruel hand to death. Fauzia Wahab was no ordinary person, she was the beloved leader and friend of scores of people from all walks of life, a doting mother and sister, my better half-and a very productive member of society. With complete spirit and passion she tried to play all the essential roles in her life.Dr Ghazanfer Mehdi Chairman AHAP said that said that Fauzia Wahab was an institution who was the true leader of democrats and struggled total life for the development of women foil Raja Mujahid Afsar Khan chief of Dandoot said that Fauzia was a left activist but at the same time she was deliver of Islamic values and particularly soofi Ism and she came especially to Dandoot to participate.Syed Ahmed Shirazi Soofi said that neither Islam nor mystics are confined to muslims only. Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the leader of all human beings. Syed Mustafain Kazmi said that Fauzia became active during her student life in Karachi university and she struggled against dictatorship and marshal law. Prof Dr Riaz Ahmed said that history and culture were the favourite subject of Fauzia Wahab. She appreciated the idea of cultural caravan and said that we can introduce Pakistani culture on international level and we can earn billions rupees by promoting tourism. Zafar Bakhtawari, Chairman Pakistan Cultural Forum, said that Fauzia Wahab was vocal and straightforward in her ideas and she was popular in talk show programmes of TV channels. Farukh Jamal, grand son of Josh Maleehabadi, Khawaja Babar Saleem, chairman Press Club Chakwal, Syed Muzamil Hussain Shah, DPR IIU, Syeda Saima Batool and Zaildar Syed Ahsan Shah paid glowing tributes to Fauzia Wahab. Dr Ghazanfer Mehdi presented a resolution in which they stated that a road of Karachi should be renamed after Fauzia Wahab. Later Fateha was offered for the departed soul of Fauzia Wahab.
