Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani on Friday appointed Major General Mian Muhammad Hilal as new Director General Rangers Punjab. According to defense sources, Major General Mian Muhammad Hilal currently is performing his duties in Bahawalpur as General Officer Commanding. He has been appointed new DG Rangers in place of martyred Major General Anwar. Major General Anwar was killed in a chopper crash on June 1 in Indus River near Layyah. Sources say that Maj Gen Mian Mohammad Hilal will soon perform his duties as new DG Rangers Punjab. On the other hand, Major General Tariq Ghafoor has been formally appointed GOC Bahawalpur.
