PM orders action against perpetrators of Taftan attack

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday directed the relevant authorities to take action against perpetrators of attack on pilgrims returning from Iran in Taftan.
He directed the Inspector General FC to personally lead the action against terrorists.
The Prime Minister termed the task a big challenge for the law-enforcing agencies in Balochistan.
Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has also condemned terrorist attack that also injured 18 people.
Meanwhile, the death toll from Sunday night's suicide attack on a hotel hosting Shia pilgrims in Taftan mounted to 30 on Monday.
Earlier, the number of death was reported as 23 and several others injured. Hospital sources said that seven more injured who were critical succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
The Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen, Hazara Democratic Party, Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Fiqa-e-Jaferia and Tahaffuz-e-Azadari Council have condemned the attack and called it failure of the government.
In another incident, Iranian border forces fired some two dozen rocket launchers, which fell 2 km west of Frontier Corps Juli Sham post in Washuk, however, it caused no loss, FC official said on Monday.
Khan Wasey, FC spokesman said that 24 rocket launchers were fired from Iranian side which landed in an area 60 km south east of Mashkel Tehsil of Washuk district.
FC troops retaliated mortar rounds and LGM fire forcing them to stop the firing.
