Court dismisses bail plea of NHA chairman

A local court Wednesday dismissed the bail plea of arrested Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) Chaudhry Altaf, and three other senior officials into the Shershah bridge collapse case. The police last week arrested the NHA chairman and three others in courtroom in the bridge collapse case. Former NHA chairman Major General (Rtd) Farrukh Javed managed to flee from the court and later granted interim bail by the Sindh High Court. The Shershah bridge had collapsed on September 1, 2007, six months after its inauguration by then president Pervez Musharraf.
