ISLAMABAD - The brawl between PTI and PML-N seems diffusing after PTI MNA visited Minister of State for Water and Power and assured him his full cooperation regarding removing illegal connections and installing electric meters.
According to sources, PTI MNA Khyal Zaman Orakzai met Abid Sher Ali in the Ministry of Water and Power on Thursday, and assured him that the people of District Hangu would remove ‘Kunda’ (illegal power connection) and would install electricity meter soon.
Ali in a visit to KPK this week had ordered to shut down ten feeders. One feeder of Hangu was also shut due to huge line losses.
However, it was unclear that Orakzai visited Ali on the directives of his party or it was his individual decision.
Abid Sher Ali who has been very vocal against the PTI lawmakers and has been accusing them of backing power thieves surprisingly declared Orakzai’s visit a positive step and requested the other parliamentarians to follow the example of Orakzai. Sources told The Nation that the Minister directed PESCO to provide electricity meters by coming Monday to the constituency of Orakzai, Hangu, and immediately complete installation of meters.
It was also learnt that a Jirga would also be held on Monday for easy installments of receivable amount from Hangu area.
Abid in support of his allegations of power theft on PTI legislators, distributed a video in which PTI MPA Fazal Elahi is using foul language and swearing those who will dare to remove illegal connections.
He also circulated the footage to all media outlets and a copy would also be sent to PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Chief Minister KPK.
