Security plan for August 14 devised

ISLAMABAD (Online) - Keeping in view the threat of terrorism during celebration of Pakistans Independence Day, Islamabad Capital Territory Police on the special instruction of Interior Ministry has devised special security plan for August 14. Keeping in view the death of Supreme Commander of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Baitullah Mehsud and reaction by his cohorts during celebration of Pakistan Independence Day, the security of functions and seminars scheduled to be held on August 14 would be beefed up. The Capital Police have also been recommended to increase check points in Islamabad but officials after consultation have decided to ensure strict checking of vehicles entering Islamabad from night of August 13, sources said. Additional troops of Islamabad Police would also be deployed at various areas of Islamabad. Police Personnel on horses would also patrol different areas of the Capital. CCTV cameras would also be installed at entry points of Islamabad. The rangers would also be deployed around sensitive installation of Islamabad, sources added. Personnel of bomb disposal squad and staff of Rescue 15 would remain alert during celebration of Pakistans Independence Day.
