Teachers annoyed over transfer orders despite ECP ban

RAWALPINDI - Teachers of Rawalpindi district have expressed their annoyance over the transfer orders of 68 male and female teachers despite ban on recruitments and transfers in government institutions, imposed by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). According to the notification issued by the Education Department, 68 male and female teachers have been transferred to schools far away of their home town.
A group of teachers from Chak Amral consisting of Shaista Nasreen, Mussarat Shaheen, Mumtaz Begum, Syed Zahoor Abbas Kazmi, Asif Mehmood and others said that the transfers were against the rules and regulations as teachers, especially female teachers, must not be transferred away from their homes.
Moreover, they said, it was beyond any rationale the department order the transfers despite ban imposed by the ECP. The teachers demanded of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif and high-ups of Education Department to revoke the transfer orders.
