Gilani calls for adopting Quaids principles

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the best way to pay homage to the Quaid-i-Azam on his death anniversary is to adopt the principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline in our national life as envisaged by the great Quaid. In a message on the 61st death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he said this is the time to act upon the objectives for which Pakistan was created as a separate and independent homeland for the Muslims of the sub continent. He called for striving to establish a true democratic system in Pakistan. The Prime Minister also stressed the need to understand the vision of the Quaid-e-Awam, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for which they laid down their lives. For democracy and rule of law to flourish in Pakistan, we must defeat the anti-democratic forces in the form of extremism and militancy trying to destroy the social fabric of the country, he said. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan was created under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the basis of democratic principles. He envisaged Pakistan to be a country where social justice and economic opportunities for all prevail. We, therefore, need to adopt the same principles and policies to establish a true democratic welfare state. The Prime Minister urged the nation to reiterate, on this day, the commitment to achieving the goal of a federal and democratic Pakistan with the supremacy of parliament, independent judiciary, rule of law and respect for human rights as the best tribute to the Founder of the Nation.
