Ministers should resign who don’ want to give reply in parliament: Ch Nisar

Interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said the ministers who can not give reply in parliament should resign.
He said this while giving a policy statement here in National Assembly (NA) Thursday.
Replying to calling attention notice from MQM MNA, Sajid Ahmad, interior minister said it is unjust that  ministers get perks and privileges but they don’t deem it proper to give reply in the house. There are clear directives from Prime Minister (PM) that ministers should ensure their attendance in the house. Privilege motion be tabled against the ministers who are not present in the house, he proposed.
He proposed to speaker NA that a focal person be appointed in NA secretariat who should be assigned to contact focal persons of ministries on daily basis and inform them about the days when the ministers have to give reply to questions in the house
Speaker NA agreed to Nisar proposal saying he will appoint focal person to  make contact ministries on daily basis.
He paid rich tributes to former army chief Gen (Retd) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and former Chief Justice (Retd) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry saying eras of both of them are of paramount significance for army and judiciary. The two have rendered history making services. Both the institutions of army and judiciary  were undergoing worst situation when these two took over the charge of their offices. Army had become victim of ill conceived policies of Pervez Musharraf as former president had used it to serve his personal interests. Wrong impression about army was prevailing among the people. Kayani improved the prestige and credibility of army to large extent  and acknowledged the authority of civilian government.
Former CJ Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has left indelible prints on the history of judiciary and he has authored  new  history of judiciary, he said. He investigated into corruption scams and saved the national kitty from colossal losses during his tenure., he added.
