A lineman of Wapda died of electrocution during repair of transmission line here in Islamabad on Sunday. The body remained hanged with the pylon for more than one hour. According to details, Khan Rehman, a lineman of Wapda, was busy in repairing transmission line at Kashmir Highway near Sports Complex when he was electrocuted after he mistakenly touched the high tension transmission line. The body of the deceased remained hanged with the electric tower for more than one hour but no official or employee of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) visited the scene despite presence of office nearby scene of the incident. The family members of the deceased who reached the scene called for help but screams of the bereaved family were of no use. Few family members seeing the hanging body went unconscious. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Rescue 1122 personnel later pulled down the body and shifted it to hospital. Meanwhile, citizens strongly condemned the inhuman attitude of the IESCO officials. They demanded the authorities concerned to take strict action against the responsible and compensation for the bereaved the family.
