ISLAMABAD  - The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) have decided to take strict action against habitual offenders of traffic laws.
Despite the instructions and briefings to the commuters to follow traffic rules, fasten seat belt, and observe speed limit and lane discipline, careless and reckless driving is observed, especially by PSVs drivers, that results into fatal accidents. Upon the direction of Inspector General, NH&MP have initiated strict legal action against such lawbreakers.
As a first step, NH&MP have banned entry of 08 buses, 34 wagons, 05 coasters and 03 trailers on the motorways for the period of 15 days. These vehicles either violated speed limit or lane discipline more than 05 times.
NH&MP spokesperson said, "Driving licence will be suspended for the period of 06 months if speed limit is violated thrice. It's a clear warning for youngsters who risk their lives while driving recklessly."
The NH&MP headquarters, has started maintaining computerised record of all the vehicles and violators for better implementation of given directions.  The latest software is being used to get the record of all pervious violations of the commuter instantly.
Murtaza made NBF book
ambassador : The management of National Book Foundation (NBF) has nominated Muhammad Murtaza Noor as "NBF Book Ambassador" in acknowledgment of his extraordinary services for promotion of education, literature, culture and book promotion.
Murtaza Noor has been associated with education and development sector for the last more than 15 years.
 He has also represented Pakistan at international forums.
The federal and provincial ministers, members of the parliament, former chairpersons Higher Education Commission (HEC), vice chancellors, writers, columnists, anchorpersons, university faculty, representatives of various international and national organisations through their messages have congratulated Murtaza Noor on this honour and assured their utmost cooperation for promotion of book culture in Pakistan. They have also appreciated the role of NBF and current initiatives of the administration for dissemination of knowledge.
The NBF has been rendering services in field of education, dissemination of knowledge and exploring international harmony through various global cultures since 1972.
