Load-shedding to end by next two years: PM

Prime Minister Syed Yosuf Raza Gilani said on Wednesday that load-shedding would be overcome within next two years. Speaking at inaugural ceremony of wheat sowing here at Rice Research Institute Kalashah Kaku here, Prime Minister said Executive Council of National Economic Council (ECNEC) has already approved the construction of Diamer Bhasha dam. Premier Gilani said that the dam would bring agricultural revolution in the country. He said that a huge sum of Rs 32 billion is being provided as subsidy on fertilizers alone to the growers, besides ensuring provision of high quality seeds. "An amount of Rs 8 billion is being spent on the improvement of water courses to check seepage of irrigation water and ensure that it reaches tail ends," he added.
