ISLAMABAD - Shoaib Akhtar's marvelous performance for Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday night seems to have silenced his critics who were busy criticising him for a long time. Those who say that Shoaib's cricket has ended were surprised by his showing against Daredevils Delhi in the Indian Premier League at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Shoaib destroyed the top order of Delhi Daredevils and sent the trio of in-form batsmen - A B Devellers (South Africa), Vender Sehwag (India) and Gautam Gambhir (India) - back to pavilion and made a point that he still has a lot of cricket left in him. He claimed four wickets in three overs conceding merely 11 runs. Besides, franchised owner of the Kolkata Knigh Riders, Shahrukh Khan, all the cricket lovers relished the display from Rawalpindi Express. Shoaib earned man of the match award on his maiden appearance. However, his performance has put a question mark on experts and officials who are still criticising the pacer. After this show of fast bowler, no one can say that his cricket has finished. His ability to play shortest version of the game may be useful for Pakistan. The dazzling performance by the 33 years old has given boost to his supporters. The rift between Shoaib and the PCB management should be settled to make Pakistan well prepared ahead of events like Asia Cup and the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. The people of Pakistan and the sub-continent want to see world's fastest bowler in action.
