Baloch leaders say local body polls were fake, engineered

ISLAMABAD - Former senator Manzoor Hassan Gichki has claimed that recently held local bodies (LB) polls in Balochistan were fake like general elections.  Talking to Online on Sunday, he deliberated that so many contestants were elected unopposed while no elections were held in 500 constituencies; while “Government has only ensured success for those who had submitted their nomination papers”
He said government was unsuccessful in steering the province out of crisis and 26 bodies had been recovered since August. He said health and education were also insufficient in the province.
BNP (Mengal) vice president Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini also berated the elections, which were engineered in connivance with both district administration and the provincial govt, stealing the rightful mandate of BNP. “It seems that we are not in the good books of government,” he complained.  Citing the recent statement of CM Balochistan that “We have the power, but no authority”, he said crisis would continue in the province.
