NADRA issues 155,348 cash cards to IDPs

ISLAMABAD (APP) - The government has so far issued 155,348 cash disbursement cards among IDPs, out of which 145,407 have been already activated. An amount of Rs.3.63 billion has been disbursed among IDP families, of which Rs. 2.407 billion cash have already been drawn by them so far using these cards, said Deputy Chairman, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Tariq Malik. Giving information about issuance of cash cards to IDPs here Wednesday, he said process of registration and verification of the IDPs was made transparent which helped in efficient relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts of the government along with its allied partners. He said before NADRA, variant versions of data were being used by various agencies but after NADRAs validation and verification, one single unified list was made available which resulted in consensus building across the federal and provincial governments. Tariq Malik said NADRA has so far received data of 664,818 IDPs families after registration by various agencies out of which only 289,251 were found to be eligible based on eligibility criteria agreed upon by Provincial, Federal Government and Special Support Group as well. He said during last four weeks, the Authority received registration data from Ministry of Social Welfare, UNHCR and also from its own Swift Registration Centers. The Authority also received data set of the IDP families four times since the exercise was planned. Last data set was received on July 10, which once again contained duplication and total record of 664,818 IDP families out of which 289,251 IDP families were verified. In the last data set, two new camps of Sugar Mill Charsadah and Larama were added which were not part of the old data sets provided by various agencies. He said as per procedure, NADRA receives the data of IDP families for cleansing, verification and validation from different registration agencies.
