A peace agreement has finally been signed between warring tribes in Kurram agency to end the fighting which has claimed thousands of lives over the past year. The tribes have submitted Rs20 million each to the government as surety and decided to convert the temporary ceasefire into a permanent one. They also agreed to exchange the hostages after handing over the bunkers to the scouts and vacate the villages occupied during fighting besides allowing supply of goods to the upper Kurram. Under the agreement all roads in Kurram agency that have been closed for over a year now will be opened.
