ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan People’s Party has demanded its firebrand leader Faisal Raza Abidi to tender resignation from his Senate membership for violating the party policy. According to a communiqué issued here Wednesday, PPP General Secretary Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, on the directives of party leadership, demanded resignation from Abidi.
Abidi had violated party policy; therefore, the PPP leadership has demanded him to resign as Senator, stated the communiqué.
According to reports, the decision had been taken after detailed consultations with party honcho Asif Ali Zardari. “We ask for resignations from our candidates at the time of awarding tickets, therefore, we already have Abidi’s resignation,” said a spokesman of Bilawal House.
