ISLAMABAD - Secretariat Police have registered a complaint against Barrister Ahmed Raza Kasuri, one of the members of Pervez Musharraf’s legal team in high treason case, for allegedly giving life threats to a local journalist.
According to the complaint number 51-A registered in the daily register of Secretariat Police Station, Ali Sher, a journalist of an Urdu daily, on behalf of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) has filed an application against Kasuri for allegedly calling him an Indian, an Indian agent and using the term ‘lifafa journalist’ for him.
The complainant has urged the police that action should be taken against the senior lawyer and his associates under Section 506 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for threatening him.
He said in the application that Kasuri levelled these allegations and threatened him in the presence of national and international media outside the National Library Auditorium building where special court was hearing the treason case against former President Pervez Musahrraf.
According to police, SHO Abdur Rehman has marked the application to investigation officer Zafar Iqbal for further investigations and a legal opinion from SP (legal) would be sought on Monday in this connection.
