ISLAMABAD - The registration of the dislocated persons of North Waziristan has been completed and 90,750 families consisting of 9, 92,649 persons have been registered.
Briefing media persons in Islamabad on Friday, Focal Person of Ministry of SAFRON for Internally Displaced Persons Tariq Khan said that the data collected at the registration points will be verified through NADRA to get the actual number of dislocated persons.
He said that 80 per cent IDPs have settled at Bannu, five per cent at Dera Ismail Khan, six per cent at Lakki Marwat and seven per cent in other parts of the country.
He clarified that about 21, 000 IDPs who could not travel through Miran Shah and Mirali and used the 50-kilometer route through Khost district of Afghanistan and entered Pakistan again.
He said that each IDP family is being provided one food basket consisting of 100 kg eatables per month but depending upon the size of the family more than one basket are also given to them.
Tariq Khan said that each IDP family is being given a stipend equal to basic minimum wage of Rs 12,000 per month besides Rs 20,000 Ramazan package. He said the government of Punjab has announced Rs 7,000 stipend for each family while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will give Rs 3,000 stipend per month to each family besides Rs 5,000 for Ramazan package.
Meanwhile, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Friday claimed that it has verified the entire data of 78083 family heads, given by FATA Disaster Management Authority, of internally displaced people (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency (NWA).
On the directives of Prime Minister, acting Chairman NADRA Muhammad Imtiaz Tajwar and Chairman PTA Dr Syed Ismail Shah visited Bannu on Friday to monitor the relief activities and registration facilities setup for IDPs of North Waziristan Agency (NWA). During the visit, NADRA officials briefed the chairman NADRA on ongoing process of registration of IDPs at different locations. The Chairman NADRA was told that the authority had verified the entire data of 78083 family heads given by FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA). Out of that 44770 are verified and 33313 are not verified by NADRA database. It was informed that no data from FDMA is pending with NADRA for verification.
During the visit, the chairman NADRA and chairman PTA monitored relief activities in the area in order to remove the bottlenecks in a smooth delivery of aid and allied facilities. They also reviewed the coordination between different government departments in provision of relief assistance and registration activities. Besides monitoring the relief activities, it was mutually agreed to introduce Extra Zong Kiosk Help Centre for early release of funds/assistance to IDPs.
The Chairman NADRA took notice of the problems faced by NWA women in getting themselves registered with NADRA and acquiring the CNIC. He directed NADRA officials to give immediate attention and make special arrangements to resolve women's problem during the registration process. The chairman also visited the NADRA registration centers deployed for the registration of IDPs. NADRA has deployed four mobile registration vans (MRVs) at sports complex Bannu, two MRVs at Goriwala site, one MRV at Bakkakhel, one MRV at Mameshkhel, one at Hayatabad (Peshawar) and two Nadra Registration Centres at Bannu are operational for the registration of IDPs.

TO PM FOR IDPS
Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday presented a cheque of Rs 200 million to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for PM's Fund for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Wazistan. The PM's Fund is providing basic necessities to the IDPs of North Waziristan. The government has deputed a well-equipped mobile hospital at IDPs camp in Bakakhel, Bannu, to provide medical services to the dislocated people of North Waziristan Agency.
Earlier, Minister of State for Information and Technology Anosha Rehman called on the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and inform him about the performance of her ministry. The minister apprised Sharif of her ministry's efforts for promotion of information technology in country.
Later, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi also called on the Prime Minister at the PM House. Matters pertaining to PCB were discussed in the meeting.
