ISLAMABAD - A three-member gang of unidentified people deprived Norway-returned family of valuables and cash worth of half a million of rupees in broad daylight in the jurisdiction of Kural Police Station on Sunday.
According to details, a Kharian based family upon its return to Pakistan from Norway fell prey to undefined gang of three people whi robbed them in broad daylight in the federal capital in the morning on Sunday.
Talking to TheNation on telephone, Fawad Iftikhar said they were on the way to their home after returning from Norway when three unidentified people who were riding a white Toyota Corolla intercepted them at Kural Chowk. “They introduced themselves as officers of special branch and ordered us to show my belongings to them. I was left with no option but to obey them. They took the valuables and cash from me and all of a sudden fled from the scene,” Fawad said, adding that his driver tried to chase them however they couldn’t get them.
After the incident was brought in the knowledge of Kural police station, police cooperated with us and registered an first information report (FIR) against unidentified people, Fawad said.
He lauded the cooperation of police officials with him.
A spokesperson of Islamabad police, when contacted by TheNation on Sunday, confirmed the incident and said police were investigating into the incident.
