The Supreme Court has instructed the government to table the amendment bill in the current session of National Assembly regarding appointments in Federal Services Tribunals(FSTs).
The three member bench heard the application about the FSTs. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, who was heading the bench, showed his resentment over not appointing the members of Federal Services Tribunals (FST) by the federal government.
Additional Attorney General Shah Khawar requested the court to give more time till 28 August to the federal government for making the appointments, which was turned down by the courts.
The CJP said in his remarks that already enough time of atleast five months was given to the government but it failed to implement the court orders. If government does not want to recruit members of FST, then these tribunals should be abolished.
“It looks like that government has not any interest in appointing FST members, so the court orders the government to present report on the implementation of court orders”, he added.
