3 candidates in race for slot of secretary foreign affairs

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister has started interview of the three candidates for the slot of Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There are three candidates, including Aizaaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Seema Naqvi and Muhammad Sadiq Khan who have been promoted to BPS-22.
According to sources, Aizaaz Ahmed Chaudhry has bright chances to be picked up for the top slot, which fell vacant after Jalil Abbas Jilani was appointed as Pakistan’s new ambassador to the United States.   
In a related development, senior diplomat and former spokesman of the foreign office Abdul Basit Khan has been designated as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India.
The post of the High Commissioner had fallen vacant after completion of the tenure of Salman Bashir.
Likewise, Naghmana Hashmi has been appointed as the country’s Ambassador to Belgium and Syed Javed Hassan as Ambassador to Germany.
Sources said that prime minister has made these appointments purely on merit and more such decisions are expected in next few days to appoint Pakistan’s High Commissioner for United Kingdom and other important capitals of the world.
