ISLAMABAD - Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has instructed that concept of combined investigation team (CIT) to probe important cases should be strengthened and new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the investigation and prosecution would be issued to facilitate working and bring uniformity in carrying out inquires, investigations and prosecution.
He said this while interacting with the participants of “Master Trainers Programme” under progress at NAB Headquarters on Wednesday.
The chairman exhorted investigators and prosecutors to improve their skills and ensure uniformity of pattern of working across all the regional bureaus to help improve efficiency of the premier anti-corruption watchdog. By making the training a regular feature, the bureau will be implementing well thought-out procedures to boost the efforts against corruption.
He emphasised the need for providing better training opportunities to the newly inducted investigators who have been deputed to the Regions after their initial training. The master trainers will help them in learning the techniques and skills.
He further said that prosecutors and the investigators should develop an active collaboration to produce better results and to take the cases to their logical conclusion. Their efforts would also enhance the confidence and trust entrusted by the nation in the bureau.
