Motorway police nab six car lifters, recover four cars

ISLAMABAD - National Highways & Motorway Police have recovered 4 stolen vehicles, which were stolen or snatched from different cities and arrested six car lifters by prompt action. As per details, Motorway Police was informed by Tracker Company that a Suzuki Bolan Car No. LEF-6532 has been snatched from Manga Mandi, Lahore last night. They also informed that the said car is moving on Motorway (M-2). They requested for help in tracing the said car. On this information the Motorway Police alerted all its patrolling officers and after few minutes the NH&MP officers observed the said car in the parking zone of Behra Service Area (M-2). The driver was sitting in the car, who was got arrested. He informed that this vehicle is given to him by Muhammad Yaqoob, for sending it to Rawalpindi, who is also here with his another vehicle No.LEJ-6995 who was getting CNG was also arrested along with two person Ali Sher and Mrs. Kausar. After initial investigation, they all found as part of a car lifting gang. The NH&MP officers arrested all the culprits In another incident, during routine patrolling the Motorway Police officers observed a Pejaro Jeep No. IDD-767 parked on Motorway (M-1) in the area of Burhan, while no body was present in or around the Pejaro Jeep. After waiting for a long time, when no one came to Pejaro Jeep, Motorway Police officers took the Pejaro Jeep into their custody. After checking it revealed that the said Pejaro Jeep was stolen from jurisdiction area Sadr Beroni Rawalpindi. In 3rd incident, the Motorway Police officers SPO Kazim Mansoor and SPO Saqib Waheed signaled to stop official corolla car No. AJK-7316 on Motorway (M-2) in the area of Chakri, but they instead of stopping it, sped away, they also tried to crash the officers. However, these officers passed the message through wireless to next patrolling vehicles and the special squad succeeded to stop. The officers also reached the spot. After initial investigation the driver failed to respond the questions of the officers. After checking the Rawalpindi Police it revealed the said car was stolen from the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station. These officers immediately arrest the both culprits named Hafiz-ul-asad s/o Muhammad Nisar and Ibrar-ud-din s/o nayer r/o Malaknd and took the official car in to their custody. The Motorway Police also informed the local police about all these incidents and later on, handed over the arrested carjackers along with the recovered cars to the local police for further legal action and for further investigation in the presence of the owners of these cars. The Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police Dr. Wasim Kausar has appreciated the performance of the officers who took part in these episodes and announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for them.
