Former MPA, three others gunned down in Charsadda

PESHAWAR - Pakistan Peoples Party-S provincial vice president and former MPA, Alamzeb Umarzai was gunned down by unknown armed persons at Mirzagan, area of Charsadda on Thursday morning. Sources said that former MPA was on his way back from an office of the Sui gas when armed persons attacked him with intense firing, which resulted in killing of former MPA along with his three other companions on the spot. Three other killed persons included Sher Jan a sub engineer, his guard Mubarik Khan and driver Rahim Gul. While getting an FIR registered with the Charsada Police Station, his brother, Umarzai Arshad Khan informed police that he was travelling on another vehicle in Charsada Bazar when they reached near the Sui gas office, their opponents including former provincial minister Bashir Umarzai, and his three others son opened fire on the vehicle of Alam Zeb, which resulted in killing of his brother and his three others partners. Soon after the incident, large number of his colleagues and party workers reached District Headquarters Hospital, Charsada. The party workers also staged a protest demonstration and blocked the road while on the other side PPP-S Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President, Sikandar Hayat Khan also reached on the spot and advised party workers to remain clam and peaceful. Leadership of PPP-S announced three-day mourning over the killing of loyal party worker while black flags would be hoisted on the party secretariat in Peshawar. It is wroth mentioning here that former MPA Alamzeb Khan Umarzai was targeted two times before this incident. In the previous incident he got injured while his two other friends were killed on the spot. At that time, workers of PPP-S had also staged violent protest demonstration.
