Boycott of presidential election is counterproductive: Wajih

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s presidential candidate, retired Justice Wajihuddin, said on Friday that boycotting the presidential election would be counterproductive.
Speaking to reporters here in Islamabad at the Election Commission headquarters, the PTI candidate said that boycott of election is not the solution to problems. “It’s not a wise decision. Even defeat can yield positive results, no matter we win or lose the election.”
He said his party will take full part in presidential election and will not leave the ground for others.
He said, “I didn’t have an objection with the Supreme Court’s decision then, and I don’t have an objection now.”
According to Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed, the Supreme Court is due to send out notices to only those who have a “vested interest”. The ECP falls in to that category; however the 24 presidential candidates do not.
