ISLAMABAD – Islamabad police has established cyber crime unit for preventing local cyber crimes.
According to spokesperson of Islamabad police, the newly establishment department will control the cyber crimes in connection with social media and internet through the use of modern technology and will increase awareness among the masses about such crimes. The cyber crime unit has been established on the directives of IG Islamabad Police Binyameen Khan. DIG Islamabad Police Sultan Azam will lead the unit.
The cyber crime unit will work in collaboration with CID, and Operation Division to play its role in eradicating relevant criminal activities.
Meanwhile, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has busted a gang of dacoits and recovered five pistols and a truck from them, a police spokesman said on Thursday. On a tip-off regarding the presence of some suspects in a truck near `Korang nullah’ at Pindorian Road, SP CIA Mustansar Hussain constituted a special raiding team under supervision of DSP Sheikh Zubair Ahmed.
This team raided at the described place and arrested six dacoits for having five pistols besides impounding truck (MA-759).
The nabbed persons have been identified as Zahoor Ahmed, Fateh Khan, Imran residents of Abbottabad, Sher Gul, Riaz and Tasawur Iqbal.
The nabbed persons have confessed to come in this specific area for dacoity purpose. Case has been registered against them and further investigation is underway way during which they have also confessed for their involvement in dacoities in various other districts.
Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq have appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials to ensure effective policing in their respective areas. They have also announced cash prizes as well as commendation certificates for CIA police team.
