RAWALPINDI- A flood warning has been issued after the water level in Rawalpindi’s Nullah Lai arose due to intermittent rain in the twin cities.
The water level of Nullah Lai in Katariyan stood at 8.74 feet and 8.27 feet in Gawalmandi. Meanwhile in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the monsoon rainfall inundated several low-lying areas. According to reports, the water entered homes, located near the Nullah Lai. The met office recorded 40mm rain at Syedpur, 45mm at PMD, 47mm at Chaklala and 35mm at Bokla areas of Rawalpindi.
The authorities have also directed the residents to move to safer places. According to WASA, 300 homes may be affected by the ongoing rain.
Widespread rain with thundershower is expected in most parts of the country.
