PESHAWAR Chief Minister Amir Haidar Khan Hoti has said that practical work on Chashma Left Canal project will commence soon and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani will lay the foundation stone of the project. Talking to newly elected MPA Sami Ullah Alizai here at his office on Friday, he said that the provincial government would continue sincere efforts for development of neglected areas of the province including Dera Ismail Khan. He said that his (Sami Ullah Alizai) success in recent by-election on seat of late Latif Ullah Alizai showed complete satisfaction of the people of Dera over the political family and the provincial government. The chief minister congratulated Sami Ullah Alizai over his success and assured that development schemes of Latif Ullah Alizai will be completed in any circumstances. He lauded the role of administration, people of Dera particularly army and other security agencies in completion of election process in peaceful environment. The chief minister said that Chashma Left Canal Project will usher a new era in agriculture sector which will not only benefit the people of Dera but also the whole province will be benefited of it adding that the project will cost Rs 70 billion. He said that development process throughout the province including Dera was moving ahead with pomp and show. He assured full support to the newly elected MPA and lauded the services of late Latif Ullah Alizai. He said that the late MPA had always preferred development of his respective constituency and interests of the voters. He expressed the hope Sami Ullah Alizai will follow the footprints of Latif Ullah Alizai. Newly elected MPA Sami Ullah Alizai assured that he would leave no stone unturned for development of people of Dera and fulfillment of their expectations. Meanwhile, the chief minister while talking to various delegations of Mardan has said that development of the province was his top priority after complete elimination of terrorism. He said that the present government was successfully moving ahead in completion of its promises made with the people in general elections. Fruits of government steps in education, health, communication, clean drinking water and other sectors will soon surface and the people of the province will feel pleasant change in their lives. Hoti maintained. The chief minister approved grant of Rs 5 million for reconstruction and widening of historical Jamia Masjid Firdous Khan at Bazaar Khwaja Ganj Mardan. He cited inauguration of three major projects in health and communication sectors upon his recent visit to Sawabi, which will provide health including traveling facilities to the local people at their doorstep. Members of the delegation included; Haji Muhmmad Islam Jelani, Akhtar Ali Khan, Haji Khan Faraz, Muhammad Anwar Ali, Janis Khan, Bahadar Maqbool, Naseer, Gulzar, Sher Afzal, Farooq Khan, Haji Sahibzada, Sahib Ullah and others.
