Capital parks in pathetic condition

ISLAMABAD - The public parks in almost each sector of the federal capital are in pathetic condition due to negligence of Capital Development Authority (CDA).
Public parks and playgrounds are very essential for promoting healthy activities among people but unfortunately, the neglected parks in federal capital have failed to attract the visitors. The parks in posh sector like F-6, F-7, G-6, G-7 and G-8 are in pathetic condition because the jogging tracks, swings, lights and benches installed in these parks have broken.
Wild bushes are growing in these parks have turned to woods. With advent of evening, the revellers and junkies throng these parks and make fuss. The families have started to avoid visiting these parks due to poor management.
Parks and gardens serve as lungs for a city that is fast turning into a concrete jungle. Today most of the parks and gardens are in a bad shape.
Garbage are strewn at many others. There are pits all over the place and garbage is thrown right at the entrance, resident of F-6, Tahir Lodhi while talking to APP said. Ali Ahmad, another resident of the area said, “At night, the overgrown park literally gives a very frightening picture and now people even don’t go in the park.
Residents of the area have asked the CDA to take notice of the situation, renovate the park and ensure entertainment facilities there.
Spokesman of CDA said that in the past some projects including parks were neglected adding now the civic body chairman had decided to appoint focal persons for every sector.
Hopefully Soon, notification regarding appointment of focal persons will be issued and after that renovation and maintenance of parks would be started.
