The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday extended the deadline for candidates to file nomination papers across the country.
Earlier, the commission has extended last date for nomination papers extended for 2 days in Balochistan however after few hours extension was declared countrywide.
The deadline has been extended by two days and candidates will now have till 31 March to file their nomination papers.
The process of filing nomination papers for general election was kicked off on March 24 throughout the country.
As many as 329 nomination papers for National Assembly seats of Punjab were issued on Sunday, the first day of filing nomination papers for general election 2013.
Returning officers of the Punjab also issued 572 nomination papers to contenders for the provincial assembly seats.
