Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has urged the government to continue its efforts for successful dialogue with Talban to bring peace.
He was talking to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif during a meeting in Islamabad Monday.
During the meeting, consultations were held amongst the leaders over negotiations with militant groups and Prime Minister Sharif and the interior minister briefed Rehman regarding progress on these talks.
Moreover, discussions were also held to include JUI-F in the federal cabinet.
Sources said the premier also took the JUI-F chief in confidence regarding his visit to the United States.
The two discussed the issue of talks with the Taliban. Prime Minister took the JUI-F Amir into confidence on progress in negotiations with the Taliban.
Fazlur Rehman said anti-Pakistan elements will try to sabotage the dialogue but the government should foil their designs. He called upon the political leadership to cooperate with the government to make the dialogue a success.
Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, Minister for Interior and Parvez Rasheed, Minister for Information, Broadcasting & National Heritage were also present in the meeting.
