Linking 6-point formula of Mengal to Sheikh Mujeeb’s formula inappropriate: Malik

Minister for Interior Rehman Malik said on Friday that it was inappropriate to link the six-point formula of Sardar Akhtar Mengal to the formula of Sheikh Mujeebur Rehman as the latter is still disliked in Pakistan.
Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House before the aerial view of the diplomatic area, the minister said the government on the advice of President Asif Ali Zardari ended all cases against Akhtr Mengal and his colleagues and removed their names from the exit control list. We have totally accepted the supremacy of the Supreme Court, and Sardar Akhtar Mengal should also follow suit. “We hope that Akhtar Mengal will not give statements against Pakistan,” Malik said.
Rehman Malik requested the law enforcing agencies, Army and intelligences not to take the Balochistan problem to the point of no return.
The minister said the stance taken on the official level by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Pervaiz Ashraf at the global level was appreciable. He said 201 miscreants involved in violence during the protests against blasphemous film have been arrested. He said the protection of foreign diplomats is the responsibility of the Pakistani government and no one would be allowed to the public properties.
Rehman Malik said his Indian counterpart has assured him to visit Pakistan after finalising the visa policy.
To a question, Malik said the UN commission’s report was based on chitchat and the government completely rejects such report.
