ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) claimed on Friday that the mandate of incumbent government is bogus, as massive rigging was carried out in different constituencies.
Addressing a press conference, Senator Aitzaz Ahsan claimed that a large scale rigging was carried and they have strong evidences regarding this illegal action. He was flanked by former information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Senator Farhatullah Babar and others. He said that ballot boxes were stuffed with bogus ballot papers and returning officers made up imaginary vote counts.
Sharing a fact-finding report on the results of general election-2013, he said that irregularities amounts to massive rigging and in all 272 polling stations at least 65,672 votes were found bogus. “We have marked many constituencies where similar kind of Facts Finding Reports are being prepared,” he said, adding they accepted the results but with reservations.
To a question about former president Asif Ali Zardari Aitzaz said that there was no bar on Asif Ali Zardari to take part in politics.

NA-139, said that the even rigging started before the polling day when a grade 16 officer was appointed Assistant Returning Officer (ARO). He said that out of a total 272 polling stations, the returning officer issued bogus results in 177 polling stations.
He further said that there were ten polling stations where vote bags were not there and twelve polling stations’ bags were filled with waste papers. He also shared the alleged irregularity in different polling stations. He further said that the proofs would also be presented in the Election Commission.
