ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP-P) on Friday asked Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for thorough probe into the life threats hurled at its Chairman Bilawal Bhutto by the proscribed outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LJ).
“I expect that the Punjab government will take this matter seriously and a detailed inquiry be made at a higher level,” Leader of Opposition Syed Khursheed Shah said this in a letter written to Shahbaz.
Bilawal had reportedly received life threats from the LJ.
“Now PPP is not in a position of risking life of its leader,” he mentioned in his letter, asking the Punjab government to seriously make a high-level enquiry in this regard.
PPP has also submitted a resolution in NA condemning the life threats to Bilawal.
“This house strongly condemns the life threats given to the PPP chairman and demands immediate action against the LJ,” says the resolution.
