National Assembly session convened on June 1

ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned National Assembly’s session on June 1 (Saturday).
A spokesman for the Presidency said the president had approved the advice sent to his office by Caretaker Premier Mir Hazar Khan Khoso for convening the NA session on the said date.
Moreover, a formal notification has also been issued in this regard under which the session of the new National Assembly will be held at 10 pm on June 1 at Parliament House.
June 1 is the cut-off date for convening the NA session because the house has to meet no later than 21 days after the general elections which were held on May 11.
On the first day of the session, newly-elected members of the National Assembly will take oath to be administered by the outgoing Speaker Dr Fahmida Mirza.
The speaker will announce schedule for the election of new speaker and deputy speaker which will be held on Monday.
PML-N which is the single largest party in the House has not yet finalised the names of the candidates for speaker and deputy speaker.
However‚ Tehrik-e-Insaf has nominated Shehryar Afridi for the speaker and Munazza Hassan for deputy speaker.
The House is likely to elect its new leader on the 5th of next month and it is certain that PML-N chief Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will be elected new prime minister which will be his third term in the office.
