Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday said the operation in Lower Dir and Buner was meant to re-establish the writ of the Constitution and for "restoring Quaid-e-Azam's Pakistan". Talking to Minister for Interior Rahman Malik here at the PM House, the Prime Minister said at this crucial time entire nation should forget political differences and rise to the occasion by meeting the challenges. This is the only way that designs of the militants and extremists can be defeated, he added. The Interior Minister briefed the prime minister about the overall law and order situation in the country and apprised him of the situation in Karachi after recent incidents of violence.
